New Wave of Fashion Tourism.

This project explored the intersection of fashion and tourism in Asia, aiming to create a platform that connects travelers with authentic local fashion experiences. We investigated how fashion can be a lens through which to understand and appreciate diverse cultures, moving beyond traditional tourist experiences. Our goal was to develop a concept for a digital platform that facilitates meaningful engagement with local designers, events, and fashion communities.

Opportunity Area:

The focus was to understand the fashion industry and see if there are gaps or opportunities. We addressed the gap between mainstream tourism and the rich cultural heritage embedded in local fashion scenes.

How We Solved It:

Our approach involved a combination of primary & secondary research to understand market trends, user research to identify traveler needs and motivations, and iterative design to develop a user-friendly and engaging platform concept. We then collaborated closely as a team, utilizing online tools for communication and design collaboration. Each member contributed their unique skills and perspectives throughout the research, ideation, and design phases.

The Outcome:

Our project provides a framework for a digital platform that could:

  • Enhance cultural exchange through fashion tourism.

  • Support local designers and artisans.

  • Offer travelers unique and meaningful experiences.

  • Contribute to a more sustainable and responsible tourism industry.
